Presidents of several African countries arrived in Beijing

The 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Summit will be held in Beijing from September 4 to 6. The theme of this summit is “Join hands to promote modernization and build a high-level China-Africa community with a shared future”. Recently, presidents of many countries attending this summit have arrived in Beijing by plane.

On the evening of August 31, Zambian President Hichilema arrived in Beijing by plane.

At about 7 am on September 1, South Sudanese President Kiir led a delegation to arrive in Beijing by plane.

At about 9 am on September 1, Eritrean President Isaias arrived in Beijing by plane.

At about 9:06 am on September 1, Nigerian President Tinubu arrived in Beijing by plane.

At about 9:25 am on September 1, Comoros President Azali Assoumani arrived in Beijing by plane.

The African Union called on ECOWAS and the three countries to resolve their differences through dialogue

On January 30, local time, the African Union issued a statement calling on ECOWAS to hold dialogue with Burkina Faso, Niger and Mali to resolve the current differences.

Burkina Faso, Niger and Mali announced their decision to withdraw from ECOWAS on the 28th and issued a written notification to ECOWAS on the 29th. Earlier, ECOWAS imposed sanctions on Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso following military coups in the three countries.

Ecowas was established in 1975 to strengthen regional integration and promote political, economic, social and cultural development and cooperation among member states.
